Podcast Series Overview and Insights
The COMM UNITY project has produced several insightful podcast series, each focusing on different themes and issues relevant to community engagement and social innovation. Below are brief overviews of three of our podcasts:
Podcast 1: Social Innovation in Local Communities (Germany)
This podcast series, produced by our partner Outside Media & Knowledge in Germany, explores various social innovation initiatives within local communities. The episodes highlight innovative approaches to addressing issues such as loneliness, integration, and diversity. Listeners can learn about the Adaora Community, which supports young people and families of diverse backgrounds through emotional support and various activities. Other episodes discuss initiatives that help students cope with loneliness and programs that inspire girls to see themselves as scientists and writers through unique approaches like fashion.
Podcast 2: Diversità senza filtri (Unfiltered Diversity) (Italy)
The Italian podcast series tackles stereotypes faced by diverse groups through irony and sarcasm. Each episode begins with the host, who has a disability, reading out loud words and headlines that reflect societal prejudices. The podcast then delves into discussions with guests about their experiences navigating life amidst these stereotypes. The aim is to foster understanding and curiosity about how different groups deal with societal hostility.
Podcast 3: Beyond Borders. Choice and Equality (Ireland)
In this series, the first episode features a conversation with two Ukrainian refugees who have resettled in Ireland. They share their personal journeys, the challenges they faced, and how they adapted to their new environment. The second episode highlights the work of the Irish Wheelchair Association and the impact it has had on the lives of its members. Through heartfelt conversations, the podcast emphasizes the importance of support and community for people with disabilities.
