We’re thrilled to share our involvement in the Migrants Can Patent (PatENT) project, a groundbreaking initiative that redefines what it means to innovate in a diverse, interconnected world. This Erasmus+ project isn’t just about intellectual property—it’s about empowering migrants to channel their creativity, resilience, and unique perspectives into tangible ideas that can drive change and inspire future generations.
What is PatENT All About?
At its core, PatENT is about inclusivity and empowerment. The project challenges stereotypes around migration and shines a spotlight on the potential of migrants as innovators and entrepreneurs. Through accessible training in intellectual property rights, patenting processes, and entrepreneurship skills, PatENT aims to bridge gaps and open doors for migrants to bring their ideas to life.
As part of PatENT, our focus is on delivering targeted resources, hands-on workshops, and expert guidance to ensure that every participant understands the pathways to protect and grow their ideas. This isn’t just about patents; it’s about building confidence and equipping migrants with the tools to realize their entrepreneurial potential in Europe and beyond.
Our Role in Amplifying PatENT’s Impact
At Outside Media & Knowledge, we’re not just disseminating information about PatENT—we’re telling its story. Through engaging visuals, animated content, and social media campaigns, we aim to make PatENT’s message of innovation and inclusion resonate. We want people across Europe to see that migrants aren’t just contributors to their new communities; they’re creators, problem-solvers, and visionaries.

Connecting with Community
We’re working closely with local communities, including our Social Innovation Lab members, EKE Group, and integrations offices. By leveraging our connections in the Emmendingen region and beyond, we’re bringing the project’s story to life in a way that’s both local and global. Through online articles, social posts, and multimedia content, we’re ensuring PatENT’s message reaches as many people as possible, from young innovators to experienced entrepreneurs.
Why PatENT Matters Now More Than Ever
In a world where innovation is often associated with certain demographics or backgrounds, PatENT is a reminder that creativity and resilience come from diverse experiences. Migrants are often equipped with unique insights and ideas, and PatENT’s goal is to support and elevate these voices in the intellectual property landscape. By fostering a space for migrants to patent, grow, and share their ideas, the project is a step toward a more inclusive, vibrant economy.
Looking Forward
We’re excited to continue supporting PatENT’s journey and share the inspiring stories that come out of this project. Whether it’s through our Outside Multicultural Magazine, our social media channels, or community events, we’re committed to highlighting the importance of migrant-driven innovation.
Stay tuned as we work to amplify PatENT’s impact, empowering migrant communities and proving that innovation has no borders.
