The COMM UNITY project has produced a variety of podcast series, each focusing on unique themes that highlight social issues, community stories, and innovative approaches to solving problems. Here are some of the key themes explored in our podcasts:
- Social Innovation in Local Communities (Germany):
- This podcast series showcases innovative approaches to addressing social issues within local communities. It covers topics such as loneliness, community integration, diversity, and family support. The series highlights stories from social innovators in Freiburg and the South Baden region of Germany.
- Unfiltered Diversity (Italy):
- This series tackles the stereotypes and prejudices faced by diverse groups through irony and sarcasm. Each episode features discussions with individuals who share their experiences navigating life amidst societal biases. The goal is to foster understanding and curiosity about different perspectives.
- Beyond Borders. Choice and Equality (Ireland):
- Theme: Refugee experiences and disability rights. This series includes poignant conversations with Ukrainian refugees resettled in Ireland and members of the Irish Wheelchair Association. The episodes focus on personal journeys, integration challenges, and the transformative impact of community support.
In general, our COMM UNITY project and podcasts are about Empowering Marginalized Voices. These podcasts give marginalized communities a platform to share their stories and advocate for their needs. The series covers various issues, including disability rights, refugee experiences, and social inclusion. This project explores how community radio can drive social change by raising awareness of critical issues, mobilizing community action, and advocating for policy changes. The podcasts feature stories of community engagement and collective action.
